Telecare in Wales

Lee Davis
Policy Advisor (Telecare), Welsh Assembly Government

The presentation will set the development of telecare services in the context of ‘Fulfilled Lives, Supportive Communities’ - the strategy for social services in Wales over the next decade.  The strategy commits the Welsh Assembly Government to work with its partners in local government, health and housing sectors to exploit the opportunities for technology and, with them, to develop new care models that make appropriate use of technology to support people in their own homes, thereby reducing the need for admission to hospitals or residential care.
