Online road maps

  • Google Map (has good zoom and drag-to-move feature, but you need to enter the postcode)

  • Multimap (link goes straight to postcode area)

For both these online maps you will still need the directions (in bold) below for the last half mile to Coleshill Street, which is too small to be listed — but is listed on good satnav systems. A local street map is also given below.

Directions (provided by Aston University)

Leave the motorway at junction 6 of the M6 if you are coming from the NW or SE (M6), the South (M40) or the East (M42). If you are coming from the SW along the M5, we suggest you leave at junction 3 of the M5.

Leave the M6 at junction 6 following the signs for A38M to the city centre. Ignore signs to Aston and stay on the A38(M) for about 2 miles. Take the third exit. This is just after you pass the overhead "end of motorway" signs. As you leave the A38, filter left. This ensures you take the first exit at the Lancaster Circus Island onto James Watt Queensway.

Drive past Aston Street which is the first left and keeping in the left hand lane, take the next left into Coleshill Street (signposted Aston University car park) and continue to reach Car Park 6.

Leave the M5 at junction 3 and travel along the Hagley Road (A456) towards the city centre. After about 5 miles you will emerge from the Five Ways underpass into Broad Street. At Paradise Circus take the 2nd exit and then after going through 1 underpass, come off the A38 at Lancaster Circus and take the 3rd exit.
